Official Results – Combate Peru: Daniel Zellhuber Retains his Unbeaten Record on Incan Ground

In a historic event, Combate Americas came for the first time to South America with Combate Peru, a 10-fight card full of action featuring fighters from five different countries looking for supremacy within “La Jaula”.

In the main event, Mexico’s Daniel “Golden Boy” Zellhuber (8-0) extended his unbeaten record a to 8, after annihilating Geanfranco “Dhalsim” Cortéz (4-1) via third round TKO.

In the first round, Cortéz had good moments, managing to knock down Zellhuber with a punch and getting to complete takedowns. However, Zellhuber managed to reorganize his approach in the second round, using his Muay Thai, he managed to overwhelm the Inca fighter until the end of the fight. It is Zellhuber’s 4th victory by TKO and 5th finish in his career.
In the co-main event, Marlon Gonzales (15-4-2) defeated Pablo “El Gallo” Villaseca (14-6) by split decision in a fight that could have been the fight of the night. The war between these two fighters was a close one, where Gonzales handled the fight very well in short range and Villaseca in the distance.

To end a wonderful evening, Peruvian fighter María Paula Buzaglo (2-1) went to the final round against Mexican Alitzel Mariscal (2-1), whom she overcame by split decision.

In the first round, Buzalgo was in serious trouble but managed to recompose hereself. In the second, the Peruvian began to take a little more control over her opponent, using the cage and her great Muay Thai to keep the Mexican in the distance. The third round was perhaps the most decisive for Buzaglo, who takes a victory over one of the most promising fighters in the promotion.
Combate Perú was broadcasted live in the United States and Canada by DAZN, as well as by Univisión and Univisión Deportes. Peru enjoyed the whole card via telecast nationwide through Movistar Deportes and Latin America enjoyed it via Facebook Watch.
