COMBATE GLOBAL ANNOUNCES WORLD CUP 2026 SUMMER BREAK;
‘MUCHA MÁS ACCIÓN’ RETURNS TO LA JAULA ON SATURDAY, JULY 25
LOS ANGELES – May 11, 2026 –Following another action-packed night of Mucha Más Acción last Saturday, COMBATE GLOBAL has announced it will take a hiatus in the midst of its 2026 live event season until after the conclusion of the World Cup soccer tournament.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action in La Jaula, the COMBATE GLOBAL competition cage, will return to live television from EstrellaTV’s studio in Burbank, Calif. on Saturday, July 25.
“COMBATE’s format of country versus country competition makes for the most exciting MMA. We are taking a ‘World Cup Hiatus’ to allow our fans and fighters to focus on ‘the beautiful game’ that comes around once every four years,” said COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren.
Since it began airing its series of MMA events on network television in 2017, COMBATE GLOBAL, according to Nielsen, has amassed a U.S. audience that is new to MMA and that over indexes in consumption of live soccer on television.
In 2025, COMBATE GLOBAL expanded its digital footprint to include distribution of live events on both Samsung TV Plus, which houses both a Spanish language channel and English language channel for COMBATE GLOBAL, and the franchise’s YouTube channel.
The 2026 COMBATE GLOBAL live event season debuted on EstrellaTV, Samsung TV Plus and YouTube on February 26 and the promotion has since produced six events featuring a collection of MMA’s newest stars, including three-time world boxing champion and undefeated strawweight (115 pounds) Kenia “The Mexican Queen” Enriquez; undefeated welterweight (170 pounds) phenom Jaden Ortega; unbeaten atomweight (105 pounds), Janet Garcia and Mexican television star, Jawy “The Mexican Jake Paul” Mendez.
Enriquez is aiming to become the first world champion in history to simultaneously hold MMA and boxing world titles, while Garcia has emerged as the best 105-pound MMA fighter in the world.
On April 25, COMBATE GLOBAL, in partnership with the wildly popular urban Latino comedy series, Foos Gone Wild, debuted its all-new ‘Foos Fighting Championship’ live television event series designed to give amateur ‘foos’ a pathway to the professional ranks in the sport.
The inaugural ‘Foos Fighting Championship’ event garnered a massive television and digital audience of over 600,000 viewers, solidifying the success of COMBATE GLOBAL’s move from Miami to Los Angeles County this year.
