Jose “Froggy” Estrada got his groove his back
July 1, 2021
Miami, Fla-The thought of hanging up his fighter gloves recently came to mind, but Jose “Froggy” Estrada feels like he has his groove back and he is planning to showcase it in this Friday’s Combate Global 11 main event.
Estrada will battle Nicaragua’s Leonardo Morales.
Both me have not competed since early 2019.
Morales has competed with notable names such as Yair Rodriguez. However, Estrada understands a victory of Morales will catapult his shot at a Combate Global title.
“He is a good test I seen he has some experience on the big shows,” he said. “I want to bring that out of him I’m sure he knows who I am and the fight I bring so I supposed he will be coming with everything he has but it’s ok quarantine helped me prepare for this.”
Estrada last defeated Adrian Guzman by way of submission in April of 2019.
He started his journey in mma while in high school. He joined his brother training and became his training partner.
As an amateur fight, he went 6-0 earning two local titles.
He trains out of Westcoast Jiu Jitsu where the likes of “Malicious” Michael Reyes homes his skills.
“Being on my own at times and staying focus on my task,” he said is something he does. “Yes, giving up came to mind when I had nothing going on but I managed to over come that feeling and embrace this sport of MMA and remember why I started.”
When he is not training, he works for a solar panel company.
With a difference mentally, he has his eyes on fighting the best.
“I want to face all the fighters who have been ranked ahead of me and ducked me in the past to fight. That being said I’m coming for the crown,” he added.
