Miami, FL-Mexico’s Yasmine Jauregui (8-0) defeated Claire Lopez (6-4) to win the inaugural 115-pound Combate Global eight women tournament.

The quick and powerful Jauregui defeated her opponent at 4:16 in the first round by way of TKO at CG 2021 August 13.

She impressed with her power and speed. Jauregui has left the sports world buzzing.

First Round

Lopez connected with a leg kick. She later attempted to take her opponent to the ground, however, Jauregui once again unleashed a flurry of punches, where eventually the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

Semi finals

Yasmine Jauregui defeated Criszaida Adames (5-1) in the first round at 3:14 by TKO

Adames attempted to take Jauregui to the ground. Eventually, Jauregui met the floor but quickly transitioned the fight to stand up.

However, Jauregui unleashed a flurry of punches. Adames couldn’t defend herself. The referee stepped in to stop the fight.

Claire Lopez (6-3) defeated Paulina Vargas (4-2) rear naked choke 3:43 first round

Both fighters tested each other out. However, Lopez landed clean shots. She later took Vargas to the floor, where she searched for a submission. However, Vargas found her way out of it and both fighters took the fight to their feet.

Soon after, the fight went back to the ground where Lopez locked in a rear naked choke for the win.

Additional Bout

Leodegario Muniz (5-1) defeated Hector Fajardo (4-2)

In a rematch from May, Muniz again defeated Fajarado. But unlike their first meeting, which was for one five-minute round since they were reserves for a tournament, this contest went all three rounds with Muniz winning by unanimous decision.
