Fresh off his tournament win, David “The Black Spartan” Martinez is ready for combat after defeating three men in one night.

Last month, the aspiring doctor won Combate Global’s bantamweight tournament.

In the finals, he defeated his foe Francisco Riviera Jr. in just 17 seconds by way of knockout.

“I feel really emotional, and I feel that I took a big step in mixed martial arts in a major promotion like Combate Globa,” he said.

ADJUSTING

Prior to winning the tournament, he defeated Alan Cantu by way of unanimous decision in the semi-finals and in the quarter finals he ousted Alex Gonzalez by way of TKO at 1:50 in the first round.

“The plan was to always adapt in every situation and give the best I can in each round,” he said.

REPRESENTING HIS NATIVE COUNTRY

The tournament featured fighters from both Mexico and the United States and there was no doubt in Martinez’s mind that he was excited to raise his country’s flag.

“I feel proud to always be able to get on the stand and proudly rise the Mexican flag and be a part of history,” he said.

CELEBRATION

After the victory, the Bonebreakers Team fighter flew back from Miami to his hometown of Coyoacan.

“We went to eat with the family and spoke about the event later on we planned to make a major feast for all of the professors,” he said.

Martinez is ready to get inside la jaula to compete since he didn’t suffer any injuries.

“I am ready for whatever comes my way,” he said.
