Let’s preview the upcoming fights.
Bandejas vs Bartholomew
Both Bandejas and Bartholomew are in search of a victory both men are currently on a two-fight losing streak. Bandejas was defeated back in October of last year by way of submission and he had a unanimous decision lost against Sergio Pettis in July of last year. Meanwhile, Bartholomew lost his last two fights by way of unanimous decision. In this scrap, look for two veterans of the sport to throw hands from the beginning. Bartholomew will more than likely stick to his bread and butter of wrestling, but Bandejas, who trains with American Top Team, might have the perfect defense to block any potential takedowns. Look for Bandejas quick foot work as he looks for a potential knockout victory.
Carlos Rivera vs Jose Avalos
The fifth degree jiu jitsu black belt, Avalos will use his grappling game to attempt to extend his fight win streak to three. But Mexico’s Rivera is hungry for a win and wants to impress El Jefe Campbell Maclaurin as he makes his Combate Global debut. Rivera, a physical education teacher, will do his best to keep the fight standing as he looks forward to getting back in the winning column, since he is coming off a lost back in March. On the other hand, Avalos counts on his background off grappling to come out with a win. Trained by Royler Gracie, the construction worker plans on taking down his opponent and search for a submission win as he returns to action inside la jauala.
Acosta vs Coates
Expect Acosta to walk inside la jaula with intensity and looking for a quick fight, but Coates should slow the pace relying on her groundwork. Acosta is coming off a victory back in April when she defeated Allysen Breeden by way of TKO in the first round. On the other hand, Coates last competed in an exhibition bout against Flore Hani where it was awarded a split decision. Ring rust could play a role, but if Coates used her time wisely, a fresh fighter should properly challenge Acosta pushing her to her limits.
Alequin vs Martinez
The Sanford MMA standout Alequin has impressed inside la jaula, but the Martinez whose background consists of wrestling, sambo, boxing, and Jiu jitsu could be obstacle. Alequin most recently defeated Jorge Masvidal’s prodigy and wrestler Charlie Decca back in April. Alequin will use his hands to formally introduce Martinez. However, Martinez will have to depend on his grappling game if he wants to keep his undefeated record.
