MIAMI September 21, 2023 – On the heels of its continued ratings success, COMBATE GLOBAL, today announced the expansion of COMBATE GLOBAL Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event programming, in Spanish, in the U.S. to include live streaming on TelevisaUnivision’s ViX service. The complete COMBATE GLOBAL event will be available on the free tier of the app, starting with this week fights on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT.

In addition to streaming live on ViX, COMBATE GLOBAL events will continue to broadcast on Univision, which covers the three main card bouts on each show.

The free live streaming of each COMBATE GLOBAL event on ViX will cover both the preliminary bout card as well as the main card, totaling a minimum of five bouts on each stream.

“I am very pleased that fans will now be able to watch COMBATE GLOBAL’s entire fight cards in Spanish,” said COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren.

ViX’s stream of each COMBATE GLOBAL event will live on the platform’s “Deportes” section, in addition to being accessible through the live stream on the “Zona TUDN” channel.

Since TelevisaUnivision purchased a stake in COMBATE GLOBAL in 2021, the Company has been one of the fastest growing sports properties in the US. In 2023, Combate Global’s live show on Univision is averaging over 420,000 P2+ and 220,000 A1849 viewers, representing 25% and 41% year-over-year growth, respectively, positioning Combate as the fastest growing sports major sports property in the US.

Saturday’s live event will be headlined by a matchup between two undefeated, welterweight (170 pounds) knockout artists – Jimmie “Jimbo Slice” Pace, Jr. (3-0) and Christopher “El Tanque” Ewert (3-0).

Both Jimbo Slice of Miami and Ewert of Santiago, Chile have earned all of their professional wins in the first round of battle.

In a featured, main card flyweight (125 pounds) contest, submission expert Enrique “La Pesadilla” Pacheco (7-1) will face off with undefeated Ryan Ocasio (4-0).

Pacheco is a 31-year-old native of Santiago. He holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a red belt in Hapkido.

Since making his professional debut in 2017, Pacheco has earned an impressive 71 percent of his victories via submission.

Ocasio is a 22-year-old resident of Boca Raton, Fla. and former NCAA Division I wrestler for The Citadel as well as a master practitioner of Jeet Kune Do.

After leaving college during the pandemic, Ocasio decided to pursue a career in MMA. Unbeaten as an amateur, Ocasio has since reaped the same level of success as a professional, winning his first four fights in less than one year.

Ocasio made his COMBATE GLOBAL debut in his last fight, submitting Mexico’s Santiago Monreal with a rear-naked choke in the second round (2:34) of the bout.

In a featured women’s flyweight (125 pounds) fight, Alessandra Pajuelo (1-1) of Lima, Peru will take on Blanca Medina (0-1) of Sevilla, Spain.

The preliminary bout card will be highlighted by a featherweight (145 pounds), USA vs. Mexico meeting between Carlos “The Chief” Calderon (4-2) of Denver, Colo. And Alejandro Gavidia (4-3) of Tijuana, B.C.

Kicking off the undercard will be a strawweight (115 pounds) affair between professional debut competitors Sara Vieitez (0-0) of Sevilla, Spain and Fernanda Orellana (0-0) of Santiago, Chile.
