Watching the legendary female fighter Ronda Rousey destroying her opponents on television was enough to convince newly signed Combate Global female fighter Andrea Meneses (2-0) that fighting is the career she would pursue.

Meneses will debut inside la jaula this year, when Combate Global returns to the airwaves March 24 live on Univision and Paramount Plus.

“I started to watch videos of Ronda Rousey and I noticed how she would destroy her rivals in a matter of seconds and I thought, ‘I need to try this myself’,” she said.

The Spaniard last competed in February 2021 for a local atomweight title. She went the complete five five minute rounds and is undefeated as a professional. She won decision. Her amateur record was 5-2-1.

Now, she is ready to bring her talents to la jaula.

“I feel very humbled for the opportunity and with a lot of desire to show what I will bring,” she said.

Prior to becoming a complete mixed martial artist, she ventured in Karate, where she practiced Kyokushinkai for 12 years. She currently trains with UpperCut Training Center in Barcelona.

Although she has no opponents yet, she is excited to display her force.

“I have always said that I expect the best version of my opponent. I am prepared for everything whether it is grappling, striking wherever the fight goes I will welcome it,” she added.

She has dedicated her life to MMA four years since 2017 and says she loves to throw kicks including the high kick and likes to land the armbar on the ground.

Although she would like to win several mma titles. In the meantime, she already accomplished a goal: black belt in karate at 15 years-old.
