When she is not taking care of business inside la jaula, Iveth Del Carmen is making sure her patient’s have perfect smiles.

Mexico’s Del Carmen (1-0) will meet Miami’s Yajaira “Pantera Negra” Cunningham (2-2) this Friday live on Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and TUDN USA (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT) in the United States and TUDN MX (11 p.m. local hour) from the station’s studios in Miami, Florida.

Del Carmen will be making her debut for Combate Global against Cunningham, who was defeated by Ana Palacios last month.

For Del Carmen, she is coming off a victory against Mariana Ruiz Avila back in March.

DENTIST

When she is not training for her upcoming fight, the orthodontist is treating patients in her dental clinic.

Not only does she take care of human teeth, but she also volunteers at a local veteran clinic where she helps dogs and cats with their dental features.

LOSING HER COUSIN

One of her toughest battles in life has been overcoming her cousin’s death who died at 32. He was killed in an assault.

A former professional boxer, she considered him like a brother.

“Losing him was a lesson for me,” she said. “I learned that life is too short and everything should be appreciated. In life, it is important to look for happiness and I found happiness in my training and family.”

Del Carmen has been training mixed martial arts for six years and plans on bringing excitement inside la jaula.
