Mixed Martial Arts veteran and former strawweight champion, Zoila “The Warrior Princess” Frausto (14-5), returns to “La Jaula” for her next challenge at 125 pounds. She will face an experienced Simone Aparecida Da Silva Duarte (8-1) at the “Combate Americas: Stockton Presented by Cricket Wireless” event.

Combate Stockton will be held on Friday, May 10, inside the Stockton Arena. It will be live for U.S and Canada residents via DAZN (10 pm ET / 7 pm PT), Univision (12 am ET / PT) and Univisión Deportes Network (UDN) (12 am ET / 9 pm PT).  It will stream on Facebook Watch for Latin America and rest of the world.

“The Warrior Princess” is one of the most experienced martial artists in MMA. She has competed under multiple banners, achieving outstanding victories over renowned fighters like Jessica Penne and Jessica Aguilar. After three years of inactivity, she made her Combate Americas’ debut against Jaimelene ‘Queenie’ Nievera (7-5), whom she defeated by TKO in an overwhelming way in the first round.

Frausto had an impressive 7-victory-winning streak in 2012 ended by 4 straight losses. She is currently on a two-fight-winning streak and looking for her third victory.  She says that she feels grateful to return to the sport she loves so much and above all, that she feels that she is in great condition coming into this bout at Combate Stockton.

“Man, have things changed. When I started fighting professionally over 10 years ago, I used to use anger to drive me“, said Frausto in an Instagram statement.  “I felt I needed to be mad, but with emotion like anger, it left me open to make mistakes. Lucky for me, only a few were able to capitalized on those stupid emotions. Now a days I am grateful, I am happy, I am blessed, every single time I’m able to make this walk to the cage or ring”.

The 35-year-old fighter explained to her fans her mental state, saying that despite the struggles she has suffered throughout her career that  this situation led her to become the warrior she is today.

“…After so many years in the game”, continued Frausto. “All the ups & downs, all the major injuries & surgeries that couldn’t stop me, even being a little older (but feeling & acting like I’m in my early 20’s)…Here I am smiling & grateful that my body is strong, my mind is stronger & has overcome more than many can imagine. Grateful for the struggles & enjoying the journey even through the pain because it me made solid underneath it all”.

Frausto will be facing a tough challenger when she meets Da Silva Duarte, a former Brazilian flyweight champion who is looking to rise to the top of the division inside Combate Americas. However, Frausto is  confident that the final result will be in her favor on May 10.

“I smile now because I’m still f*king here & about to paint that canvas with some beautiful violence once again in 10 days”.
