TS-1 Promotions presents: Combate Americas Hidalgo began dramatically with multiple first round finishes, with two of the fastest submission victories in Combate Americas’ history.
“TS-1 Promotions presents: Combate Américas Hidalgo” was held Friday, June 21, at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, and was broadcast live on Spanish television in the US. UU Both on Univisión and UDN, and in English for USA and Canada on DAZN.
Getting things started, Edmilson Freitas was determined not to leave it in the hands of the judges and immediately took David Salazar to the ground and finished the fight in just 44 seconds via rear naked choke, getting the victory and fan’s approval.

Later on, Roy Sarabia went to work early in the first round against Isaac Matamoros, landing strike combinations until he managed to take the fight right where he wanted it, leaving “La Jaula” with a first-round submission victory via rear naked choke. It was the second second fight finished via this technique.

The third fight of the evening was an exact copy of the previous two. Elias Urbina stepped into “La Jaula” to face Carlos Martinez, and as soon as the bell rang, he went in trying to get a KO landing with knees and punches. However, the fight took an unexpected turn of events when Urbina hit Martinez sending him to the floor, and once there, Urbina finished the fight with a tight rear naked choke at 2:00 of the first round.

In the fourth bout of the night, Jose “Luke” Flores took on Eduardo Bustillos Martinez in a 155 pounds bout, but the fight was stopped in the first 40 seconds of the first round via technical submission caused by Martinez’s injury. After a kick from Flores, Martinez blocked the kick and tried to take the fight to the mat with a takedown, but met with Flores arms in a guillotine, and at the same time one of Martinez’s elbows gave in.

The preliminary card ended with the only fight that made it to the second round and did not end in a submission. Juan “The Demon” González was in trouble on several occasions in the first round thanks to Elías Rodríguez‘s Jiu Jitsu, but he managed to adjust his game and finished the fight with punches and elbows at 3:01 of the second round.

All “TS-1 Promotions presents: Combate Americas Hidalgo” preliminary fights were finished before the 3rd round and the combined time inside “La Jaula” was 8 minutes and 45 seconds, one of the shortest fight time cards in company’s history for prelims.
