Ryan “Cowboy” Reneau Looks to Bounce Back from Losing Streak at Combate Stockton
May 1, 2019
The California native, Ryan “Cowboy” Reneau (4-6-1), will have his second Combate Americas’s fight next week at “Combate Americas: Stockton Presented by Cricket Wireless“.
Combat Stockton will be held Friday May 10, at Stockton Arena, in Stockton, California, and will be live for the U.S and Canada via DAZN (10 pm ET / 7 pm PT), Univision (12 am ET / PT) and Univisión Deportes Network (UDN) (12 am ET / 9 pm PT). The event will also air on Facebook Watch for Latin America and rest of the world.
Reneau, a 33-year-old fighter, began learning to fight Mixed Martial Arts when he was 5 years old and became a profession in 2011. His record for his first five bouts was 2-2-1.
This young man, who goes by the nickname “Cowboy“, practiced Tae Kwon Do alongside his family for 13 years and eventually achieved a second-degree black belt, and he incorporates these useful techniques into his MMA.
Unfortunately, things have not gone as he wanted. Reneau is currently on a 3-fight-losing streak including his last fight, a second round TKO loss to Adrian Guzman in his promotional debut at Combate Amercias: Mexico vs. USA earlier this year.

Reneau, is a well-rounded fighter who trains at One Nation MMA, a local gym in Bakersfield, California. He has good hands and footwork, and good ground game as well. Two of his four victories are finishes, including a first round submission by guillotine.
While he usually fights at a weight of 145 lbs., he will fight in the 155 lbs. division to face Anthony Taylor, a California fighter who comes in with a two-fight-winning streak, including a second round submission win back in May, 2018.
Will “Cowboy” get out of his slump? Will he get a win against a fighter with a lot of momentum? You will find out next week at “Combate Americas: Stockton Presented by Cricket Wireless“.
