Combate Americas is heading back to Texas with a card packed full of stars. The State Farm Arena in Hidalgo will host the return of Ricky “El Gallero” Palacios (11-1), facing his greatest challenge inside “La Jaula” yet.

“TS-1 Promotions presents: Combate Americas Hidalgo” will be held Friday, June 21, and will be broadcast live on Spanish television in the U.S. both on Univision (12 am ET / PT) and UDN (12 am ET / 9 pm PT), as well as in English in USA and Canada on DAZN (11 pm ET / 8 p.m. PT).

Palacios, one of the best knockout artists in Combate Americas, will face off against Cooper Gibson (9-2). Gibson joins his brother Chase Gibson in the Combate Americas’ roster and prepares to take the family name to another level inside the circular cage.

El Gallero,” from Mission, Texas, comes off a spectacular first round TKO victory over Walel Watson in a match outside of Combate Americas in November of last year. The Texan won the bout with a vicious head kick and punches at 3:56 in the first round, his 11th victory in his professional career.

Palacios is on a 9 fight winning streak, including 6 victories inside “La Jaula.” He is unbeaten since June 2015, a year after he competed in Combate Americas’ reality show. It was during this same stretch that he got one of his best KOs in his career over Benji Gomez.

Ricky’s last victory in “La Jaula,” was the three-round war against Chris Avila in Combate 16, where he won the fight via unanimous decision. Although he had problems during the first rounds, the Mexican fighter managed to keep scoring points until the last second of the match.

32-year-old Palacios will face a tough rival in Gibson, a 29-year-old who is emerging as an aggressive fighter with excellent technique. Gibson has won with finishes by TKO / KO in 6 of his 9 victories as a professional, including two outstanding Ws, one of them, a first round submission over Andrew Lazo.

Palacios is returning to Combate Americas after two years.  Can he maintain his undefeated record within Combate Americas against the Californian fighter? Or will Gibson return after his own five year hiatus, with more strength and momentum then before?
