Miami, FL– In a welterweight fight, Ovidio Bojorquez (4-1)will look for another highlight reel finish, but a fierce heavy hitting Georgie Medina (2-1) stands in his way in this week’s main event for CG 2023 April 15: Bojorquez vs Medina.

Also, Daniela Hernandez (4-0) put her undefeated record against the powerful striker Kayla “K-Rock Hracho (4-4) in a an atom weight bout, while Claudia Villalobos returns to la jaula to face kickboxing champion Ruby Mesu (0-0).

Bojorquez z vs Medina

Bojorquez has never been to the third round finishing his opponents all but one in the first round. His lone loss came by the hands of Ray Waters back in December 2021. The Mexican trains with Rise Combat Sports and had a successful amateur record.

Both of his Combate Global appearances were quick technical knockouts one of them made for a spectacular finish by way of a flying knee. He counts on quick fast hands and vicious knees with knockout power.

On the other side, Medina went undefeated as an amateur and has a strong background in Muay Thai. In fact, he won a few belts as an amateur competing in Muay Thai fights.

The Valle Flow Striking fighter is quick and a fighter who likes to pressure his opponents. However, he is coming off his first defeat against Thad Jones who outscored. Medina lost by way of unanimous decision.

Expect a stand up war with both these men inside la jaula which should make for an exciting fight. They are both fighters who pressure their opponents, but it will be interesting to see if that is even a possibility since both are quick on their feet.

If Bojorquez could get action in the clinch that would benefit him, however, Medina might flip the script and experiment on the floor.

Hracho vs Hernandez

Hernandez just recently retired as a wrestler and is now a dedicated mixed martial artist. The PanAmerican wrestler has had a lot of success in la jaula defeating Andrea Meneses in November by way of unanimous decision.

She trains with the Lions Alpha Team in Mexico and has evolved as a mixed martial artist right in front of Combate Global fans.

Hracho last competed against Katie Perez  by way of split decision in October. The American Top Team fighter has an outstanding boxing background and has adjusted to the world of mixed martial arts. With her lighting speed hands, this will be a difference in the fight as long as she keeps the distance.

This will be your typical wrestler versus striker type of fight. Although, Hernandez has improved her striking, but her wrestling will be the key in this fight. Hracho needs to keep the distance and be able to strike and move to prohibit Hernandez from going for the takedown.

Villalobos vs Mesu

It has been sometime in the making, but Mesu will make her mixed martial arts debut. Mesu is a kickboxing champion who found herself looking to become a diverse fighter. That’s the reason a few years ago, she decided to start learning other disciplines to enter la jaula. She is a fighter who likes to pressure her opponent but doesn’t do well if her foe pressures her.

She trains with Ruthless Fight Company in the Netherlands.

Villalobos is making her second appearance inside la jaula. In her first fight, she looked very confident and worked very well keeping the distance. She is not afraid to exchange but smart enough to know when she needs to step out.

Expect a standup war with these two female athletes but the all-around experience going to Villalobos especially in the ground.
