Combate Peru will take place at Coliseo Manuel Bonilla in Lima, Peru, and will be broadcast exclusively in English in the United States and Canada on DAZN(12am E, 11pm C, 9pm PAC), as well as on Univision (12am E, 11pm C) and on Univisión Deportes (12am E, 11pm C, 9pm PAC).

This fight almost happened in December of last year, when both fighters represented their respective countries in Copa Combate 2018, an eight-man tournament, where fighters compete for a chance to win $ 100,000. Unfortunately, the two fighters lost before they could face each other. Now, in this historic event in Peru, the long standing soccer rivalry will get a chance to play itself out in “La Jaula.”

Villaseca is a pioneer in Chile’s MMA, with a 14-5 record. He began his career with 9-0 run and was able to compete outside of his country. The fighter, who’s a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, has six wins by submission thanks to his expertise with the “arte suave.” Villaseca is also a Karate and Taekwondo expert, and has four victories by KO / TKO.  All of this makes him a dangerous and multifaceted striker.

Gonzales, his opponent, is ranked as #3 in Peru’s lightweight division rankings and #5 in Latin America. He is one of the most exciting fighters coming out of Peru and has managed to get a 14-4-2 record, thanks to his well-rounded game and his aggressiveness.

With high level kickboxing and Muay Thai, Gonzales has defeated six opponents via KO/TKO, proving his power and striking technique. After appearing in Copa Combate 2018, representing Peru, he went through some personal issues that made him rethink his priorities. Gonzales is now determined to defend his home and claim his first victory inside “La Jaula”.

This has all the makings of a great fight.  Gonzales and Villaseca are two fighters with strong records and experience, specialists in their own different disciplines. Above all, they come to Combate Peru ready to represent two countries in one of the greatest sports rivalries of all time.
