Miami, FL– Cuba’s Lazaro “El Cazador” Dayron (6-0) made a statement defeating the experienced British fighter Nathan Greyson (6-5) by way of technical knockout at 1:29 in the third round in the main event of CG 2023 April 1: Dayron vs Greyson.

Also, Melissa Amaya (6-0) defeated Gillian Noll (3-3) by way of majority decision with a broken hand.

Dayron vs Greyson

In the first round, Dayron connected vicious heavy shots. A confident Greyson smiled as his opponent was on the offense.

However, Dayron took the British to the ground where he executed a vicious onslaught of offensive shots. He nearly took the win from the ground and pound, but wasn’t able to get the finish.

But in the final chapter of the bout, Dayron was too much for Greyson again taking him down and this time forcing the referee to step in and call the fight as he landed unstoppable hits from the ground and pound position.

He now has four victories inside la jaula something fellow 135-pound fighters need to keep on eye on.

Amaya vs Noll

Amaya was surprised to know Noll started the fight going to the floor instead of striking. Amaya had some difficulty and had to quickly make adjustments within the round first especially after breaking her hand.

She connected combinations one of which caused her right hand to break.

Despite the injury, she continued to show her will and determination.

Flash forward to the third round; Noll desperately went for the takedown but wasn’t enough as Amaya took the fight.

Perez vs Penagos

Also, Jair Perez (8-4) defeated Venezuela’s Grenier Penagos (7-5) by way of technical knockout in the third round at 1:20.

Perez said he was surprised that Penagos went for the takedown, but Perez’s boxing was sharp and precise which was the turning point in this bout.

After the fight, Perez said he wants a rematch against Justin Vazquez. Both men fought last year with Vazquez taking the victory.
