BIO

Started doing MMA just for exercise, but growing up he was always getting in to fights over and over.
His dad made him do martial arts for behavior and wasting energy, Camilo fell in love right away and
started training regularly.

Grew up in New Jersey when he was 10 years old, then he went back to Brazil when he had 17, there
he spent nine years. There he fought eight times, four amateur and four pro bouts. After that he
came back to the U.S. and joined his current team.

As almost every Brazilian, Joao enjoys playing soccer, which is one of his other passions; he is a huge
fan of the Flamengo Brazilian soccer team. Also likes to play videogames and watch movies in his free
time.

Single father of a two-year-old daughter, considers himself as a family guy, doesn’t like to party or
drink at any time, calls himself a home guy.
