AXS TV<\/strong><\/a>and Fight Network<\/strong><\/a>(FN) arepresenting a special live broadcast of the premier Hispanic Mixed Martial Arts franchise Combate Americas<\/em><\/strong><\/a> on Friday, December 13 at 10pE\/7pP from Stockton Arena in Stockton, Calif. The night gives MMA fans a preview of AXS TV\u2019s and FN\u2019s 2020 Combate Americas<\/em> coverage that will consist of 35 live televised events next year.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Combate Americas: North America vs. South America<\/em><\/strong> will be broadcast in its entirety, over 3.5 hours, live on AXS TV across the U.S. and FN in Canada and internationally in Europe and Africa. The fully-loaded fight card shines the spotlight on a roster of established talent and rising superstars, including main and co-main event bouts between prolific athletes from North America and South America.<\/p>\n

Announced today as the show\u2019s new main event was a featherweight (145 pounds) collision between knockout artist Horacio \u201cThe Punisher\u201d Gutierrez<\/strong>(6-3)and fellow hard-hitting battler Marlon \u201cDeriko Siete\u201d Gonzales<\/strong> (15-4).<\/p>\n

Hailing from Guadalajara, J..L., Mexico, the 29-year-old Gutierrez fights out of Chicago, Ill., and is a former semi-finalist on The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America<\/em> competition reality television series.\u00a0 He is coming off a devastating, first round (2:41) TKO (punches) of Chase Gibson<\/strong> at Combate Americas\u2019 event in Guadalajara on September 27.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old Gonzales of Lima, Peru will look to earn his second straight win after edging out a split decision over Chile\u2019s Pablo Villaseca<\/strong> at Combate Americas\u2019 inaugural event in Peru and South America on May 31.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event that will also be contested at featherweight, Javier \u201cBlair\u201d Reyes<\/strong> (8-3) of Bogota, Colombia will face off with Gilbert \u201cEl Ni\u00f1o\u201d Melendez<\/strong> prot\u00e9g\u00e9 Joe \u201cNine Lives\u201d Neal<\/strong> (6-4) of Hayward, Calif.<\/p>\n

In a featured, women\u2019s bantamweight (135 pounds) bout announced today, undefeated Tina Pettigrew <\/strong>(5-0) of San Diego, Calif. will battle Maritza Sanchez<\/strong> (5-6) of El Dorado, Calif.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere on the card, knockout artistAlejandro \u201cHulk\u201d Sanchez<\/strong> (6-1) of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico will face unbeaten Cameron Church<\/strong> (2-0) of Lake Tahoe, Nev. at lightweight (155 pounds).<\/p>\n

In a 140-pound catchweight preliminary bout contest, undefeated Dan Arguetta<\/strong> (3-0) of Orland Park, Ill. will face Roger Severson<\/strong> (3-3-1) of Vallejo, Calif.<\/p>\n

An atomweight (105 pounds) women\u2019s affair will see Yajaira Cunningham<\/strong>(1-1) of Miami, Fla. meet McKenna Mitchell <\/strong>(0-2) of Aptos, Calif.<\/p>\n

Combate Americas veteran and Nate Diaz<\/strong> teammate Jose Aguayo<\/strong> (3-2) of Stockton will square off with an opponent to be determined.<\/p>\n

Additional preliminary card bouts will be announced soon.<\/p>\n

The English-language broadcast will feature play-by-play commentary by veteran national television sports journalist Max Bretos<\/strong>, and color commentary from MMA superstar Julianna \u201cThe Venezuelan Vixen\u201d Pe<\/strong>\u00f1a<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Leading up to the Network\u2019s official Combate Americas<\/em> telecasts in 2020, AXS TV and FN will air two specials air on Friday, Dec. 20 at 10pE\/7pP (90-minute program) and on Friday, Dec. 27 at 10pE\/7pP, and will cover the 2018 \u201cCopa Combate\u201d<\/em><\/strong> one-night, eight-man, $100,000 grand prize tournament and the most exciting Combate Americas<\/em> fights from 2019, respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
