{"id":6363,"date":"2019-08-05T15:53:38","date_gmt":"2019-08-05T22:53:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/?p=6363"},"modified":"2019-08-06T11:48:45","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T18:48:45","slug":"an-rematch-of-epic-proportions-for-the-featherweight-world-title-andres-quintana-vs-bruno-cannetti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/an-rematch-of-epic-proportions-for-the-featherweight-world-title-andres-quintana-vs-bruno-cannetti","title":{"rendered":"A Rematch of Epic Proportions For The featherweight World Title: Andres Quintana vs. Bruno Cannetti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the first Combate Americas&#8217; featherweight world title fight announcement, the hype around the men meeting inside &#8220;La Jaula&#8221; is growing fast, as the American, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/andres-quintana\">Andres &#8220;Bullet&#8221; Quintana<\/a> (18-2)<\/strong>, will face the Argentine <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/bruno-cannetti\">Bruno Cannetti<\/a> (8-6).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B0yEByDgpvI\/<\/p>\n<p><strong>Combate Americas<\/strong> will arrive in Lake Tahoe for the first time with its much-anticipated world championship doubleheader event<a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/events\/combate-41\">,<\/a> which will take place on Friday, Aug. 23, live on television in the U.S. in Spanish, on both Univision (12 a.m. ET\/PT) and UDN (12 a.m. ET\/9 p.m. PT),\u00a0 and live in the U.S. and Canada in English on DAZN (9:30 p.m. ET\/6:30 p.m. PT).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/andres-quintana\"><strong>Quintana<\/strong> <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/bruno-cannetti\"><strong>Cannetti<\/strong> <\/a>\u00a0first fought each other in a controversial fight in early December of last year.\u00a0 Each fighter was representing his respective country in Copa Combate 2018, an 8-man-tournament where the winner takes home a prize of 100,000 dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Cannetti, 30, defeated <strong>Joey Ruquet<\/strong> decisively in the quarter finals of Copa Combate, via TKO in just 1:32 into the first round, sending a clear message to his next opponents.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CombateAmericas\/videos\/326980961460264\/<\/p>\n<p>On the other side of the bracket, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/andres-quintana\">Quintana<\/a> <\/strong>faced <strong>Marlon Gonzales<\/strong>. &#8220;Bullet&#8221; won the fight by unanimous decision. It was Quintana&#8217;s 6th-consecutive victory in Combate Americas, and he moved into the semifinals with Cannetti.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CombateAmericas\/videos\/203740923886825\/<\/p>\n<p>In the semifinals, both fighters threw everything they had. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/bruno-cannetti\"><strong>Cannetti<\/strong><\/a> managed to knock down Quintana with a powerful right hand in the first minute of the first round, putting the American in real danger. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/andres-quintana\"><strong>Quintana<\/strong> <\/a>managed to recover from began to throw his own\u00a0 combinations in aggressive fashion until the fight was stopped for volume of strikes over the course of a minute. The stoppage was viewed as controversial, with some (include Cannetti himself) feeling that the Argentinian fighter should have been allowed to continue.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CombateAmericas\/videos\/2292041034363633\/<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/andres-quintana\"><strong>Quintana<\/strong> <\/a>continued his path in <strong>Copa Combate 2018<\/strong>, facing the talented <strong>Alejandro Flores<\/strong> in the tournament final.\u00a0 Quintana defeated Flores via KO with a spinning elbow in the middle of the first round.\u00a0 Quintana took home the coveted Copa trophy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/bruno-cannetti\">Cannetti<\/a><\/strong>, who is brother of veteran Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter <strong>Guido &#8220;Ninja&#8221; Cannetti<\/strong>, had a 7-5 record before coming to Combate Americas, including four finishes, 3 of them by (T) KO. Since he came exclusively for Copa Combate, the Argentine fighter has just a 1-1 record inside &#8220;La Jaula&#8221;, and now seeks to clean up the only loss in the company with a win over Quintana.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.combateamericas.com\/en\/fighters\/andres-quintana\"><strong>Quintana<\/strong><\/a> has the longest active winning-streak in Combate Am\u00e9ricas with 8 victories in a row.
