It may be common for some brothers to have the same profession, and sometimes even to work in the same company; but being that “Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)<\/strong>” is the profession and that your sibling is “your identical twin”, that’s something very unlikely, except if your last name is Gibson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Cooper Gibson (9-2)<\/strong>, recently signed with Combate Americas<\/strong> and now joins his twin brother Chase Gibson<\/a> (6-3)<\/strong> within the company’s roster. The brothers are identical twins with different levels of experience as martial artists. Cooper, started his professional career in MMA in 2010 but took a long break between 2013 and 2017, Chase on the other hand, started as a professional at the end of 2014 and has not stopped.<\/p>\n

Cooper<\/strong> will be making his debut in Combate Texas<\/strong> <\/a>on June 21, at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, facing one of the company’s veterans, Ricky “El Gallero” Palacios (11-1)<\/strong>. His brother, however, made his debut in the Combate Estrellas event last year, where he lost to Rafa Garc\u00eda by majority decision in a three-round battle.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s only right me and my brother are fighting for Combate Americas,\u201d said Cooper<\/strong> in a recent interview. \u201cWe were put on this earth together and it\u2019s time we both put the Gibson name on the map.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper’s arrival to Combat Americas<\/strong> is something that makes his brother happy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really excited to see my brother make his debut for Combate Americas,\u201d Chase<\/a> <\/strong>said. \u201cThey will now see what we both have to offer. Just remember the name, Gibson.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper<\/strong> has passed through several promotions throughout his career, earning a 9-2 record as a professional. His victories include 4 submissions and 2 technical knockouts, showcasing a 66% finishing percentage. Cooper and his brother Chase<\/strong> train at California Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness<\/strong> in South Gate, California,\u00a0under the wings of MMA veteran Chad George<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Cooper<\/strong> hopes to give a good performance in his upcoming fight in Combate Texas<\/strong><\/a>, and leave the arena with a victory in his Combate Americas debut, while putting the Gibson name on the map. Combate Texas<\/strong><\/a> will air live on television in Spanish in the U.S. on both Univision (12 a.m. ET\/PT) and UDN (12 a.m. ET\/9 p.m. PT), and in English in the U.S. and Canada on DAZN<\/a> <\/strong>(11 p.m. ET\/8 p.m. PT).<\/p>\n
