\u201cTHE MEXICAN JAKE PAUL\u201d <\/strong>WILL COMPETE IN HIS THIRD PROFESSIONAL MMA FIGHT<\/strong><\/p>\n

BURBANK, CALIF. <\/strong>\u2013 December 17, 2025 <\/strong>\u2013 COMBATE GLOBAL and Jawy Mende<\/strong>z (1-1), have announced that the Mexican reality television star and professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter will return to COMBATE GLOBAL action in a featured bout on Thursday, February 26, live on EstrellaTV in the U.S. from Burbank, Calif.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mendez, who has been likened to a Mexican version of Jake Paul, broke the news live in an on-air interview on EstrellaTV last Thursday during the television network\u2019s Liga MX Finals pre-game show.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The fight, which will be a part of COMBATE GLOBAL\u2019s first event of 2026, will be contested at a catchweight of 175 pounds against an opponent to be announced on a later date.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cJawy has lived up to his nickname \u2018The Mexican Jake Paul\u2019 because he wasn\u2019t taken seriously by the fight world when he made his professional debut at COMBATE GLOBAL, but has turned that sentiment around after winning his last fight convincingly,\u201d said COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mendez, indeed, proved his commitment to the sport by stopping<\/a> Rafael Monterola (0=1) of The Bronx, N.Y. in the second round (3:59) of their COMBATE GLOBAL matchup, which was also contested at a 175-pound catchweight, in Miami, Fla. on April 24, 2025.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mendez displayed much improvement since his first MMA start, repeatedly countering Monterola\u2019s offense with a powerful right hand that put Monterola down for the second time in the fight\u2019s second round.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From there, Mendez, from top position on the ground, overpowered his opponent and continued blasting Monterola with strikes until the referee stopped the bout.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mendez was a star on nine consecutive seasons of MTV\u2019s smash-hit reality series Acapulco Shore<\/em> and a star on the Televisa runaway success reality series Hotel VIP<\/em>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In October, he was a cast member and competitor on La Granja VIP<\/em>, another popular reality television show that streams on Disney+ in Mexico and was produced by Fremantle.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2023, he risked his television career by pursuing a second livelihood in the fight game, debuting with COMBATE GLOBAL on August 6 of that year.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mendez lost the fight, but won over a lot of new fans with the grit and determination he showed against Colombian fighter Johan \u201cThe Samurai\u201d Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

Mendez has not confirmed where he will train for the February 26 bout.<\/p>\n

For his fight against Monterola, he re-located to Miami, where he prepared with MMA Masters under MMA fighter and coach, Danny \u201cThe Colombian Warrior\u201d Chavez.<\/p>\n
