GISELA \u201cLA EMPERATRIZ\u201d LUNA <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MIAMI \u2013 July 24, 2024<\/strong> \u2013COMBATE GLOBAL today announced changes to its \u2018Mexico vs. Japan II\u2019 Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card, airing live on <strong>Univision <\/strong>at <strong>12 a.m. ET\/9 p.m. PT<\/strong> from Miami on <strong>Saturday, July 27<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In a new featherweight (145 pounds) co-main event announced today, <strong>Roberto \u201cEl Charro Negro\u201d Romero<\/strong> (7-3-1) will represent Mexico in place of the previously announced <strong>Ramiro \u201cEl Cachanilla\u201d Jimenez<\/strong> (10-0), against former Japanese regional champion, <strong>Takahiro Ashida<\/strong> (26-14-2).<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old Romero of Chihuahua, Chih. has stepped up on short notice to headline the contest after Jimenez was unable to travel to the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Romero, a tenacious and determined fighter trained by the renowned Colin Oyama, has been a prominent competitor in COMBATE GLOBAL since 2021. He achieved an impressive streak of five consecutive victories within the promotion. Romero\u2019s winning run came to an end in his most recent bout when he faced Patrick \u201cThe Leech\u201d Lehane on December 17, 2023 and lost via unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p>Ashida, 34, is from Saitama, Japan. He is a former featherweight champion who has earned 50 percent of his MMA career wins by way of (T)KO or submission. Ashida is a six-time veteran of RIZIN, Japan\u2019s version of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).<\/p>\n<p>Another update to the lineup features the previously announced featured welterweight (170-pound) contest between <a href=\"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/fighters\/marcos-el-lobo-lloreda#google_vignette\"><strong>Marcos \u201cEl Lobo\u201d Lloreda<\/strong><\/a> (14-8) from Miami and DEEP competitor <strong>Shoma Yamada (<\/strong>3-2) from Aichi, Japan, which has now been elevated to co-main event status.<\/p>\n<p>A third change to the fight card announced today was the addition of a featured women\u2019s flyweight (125 pounds) battle between undefeated <a href=\"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/fighters\/regina-kill-bill-tarin\"><strong>Regina \u201cKill Bill\u201d Tarin<\/strong><\/a> (3-0) and nine-time kickboxing champion <strong>Gisela \u201cLa Emperatriz\u201d Luna<\/strong> (5-2).<\/p>\n<p>Tarin is a 19-year-old native of Mexico City, and a member of her country\u2019s top MMA stable, Bonebreakers. She made her COMBATE GLOBAL debut on June 8, defeating Fernanda Marrufo by way of first round (3:14) submission (rear-naked choke).<\/p>\n<p>Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 32-year-old Luna, holds a stellar overall record of 36-3-1 in the sport of kickboxing and has earned 4 of her 5 career MMA victories by way of (T)KO or submission.<\/p>\n<p>The previously announced bantamweight (135 pounds) matchup between <strong>Ismael \u201cKraken\u201d Zamora<\/strong> (8-2) and <strong>Teppei \u201cTetsu Jagaimo\u201d Suwabe <\/strong>(13-11-1) has also undergone a change after Suwabe was forced to withdraw from the commitment due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Zamora of Mexico City will face off, instead, with veteran <strong>Juan \u201cLeadfeather\u201d Puerta<\/strong> (24-8) of Miami at 135 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>The matchup between Zamora and Puerta will be pre-recorded and utilized as a swing bout on the card.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW FEATHERWEIGHT MAIN EVENT: ROBERTO \u201cEL CHARRO NEGRO\u201d ROMERO VS.
