JANET GARCIA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MIAMI \u2013 June 20, 2024<\/strong> \u2013 Following the withdrawal of previously announced main event fighter Anas Azizoun due to illness, COMBATE GLOBAL today announced a new featherweight (145 pounds) main event contest between <strong>Kevin \u201cEl Prendido\u201d Garcia<\/strong> (10-4) and <strong>Alberto \u201cThe Promise\u201d Montes<\/strong> (6-1) for <strong>Saturday, June 22<\/strong>, live on <strong>Univision (11 p.m. ET\/ 8 p.m. PT)<\/strong> from Miami.<\/p>\n<p>Montes is a 30-year-old native of Caracas, Venezuela and a two-time veteran of COMBATE GLOBAL action. Now residing in Miami, he trains under Coach Asim Zaidi, the head of the fast-growing Goat Shed Academy fight squad. Montes holds black belts in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do, was last seen in COMBATE GLOBAL action on September 16, 2023, when he submitted American Adam \u201cKid Solo\u201d Ortiz via d\u2019arce choke in the first round (2:09) of their matchup.<\/p>\n<p>In the previously announced women\u2019s atomweight (105 pounds) co-main event, two-time national Karate champion <strong>Andrea Meneses<\/strong> (5-2) will face off with unbeaten striker <strong>Janet Garcia<\/strong> (2-0).<\/p>\n<p>Meneses, 27, from Gava, Spain, holds a black belt in Kyokushinkai Karate and is a member of Team Uppercut, the Barcelona-based fight camp featured in the 2022 COMBATE GLOBAL \u2018Exclusivos\u2019 competition reality series.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia, 33, from San Francisco, Calif., is a member of Team AKA, led by trainer and former world kickboxing champion Javier Mendez, who has produced and mentored a slew of MMA champions.
