MIAMI <\/strong>\u2013 October 18, 2023 <\/strong>\u2013 COMBATE GLOBAL, in partnership with Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) legend Conor McGregor\u2019s new beverage brand, Forged Irish Stout, today announced an MMA fight card matching a collection of dynamic combatants from Ireland with rival battlers from Mexico, for Sunday, December. 17<\/strong>, streaming live on ViX<\/strong> at 9:30 p.m. ET\/6:30 p.m. PT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The COMBATE GLOBAL three-bout main card will also air on UNIVISION<\/strong> at 11 p.m. ET\/8 p.m. PT<\/strong> on Sunday, December 17.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The unprecedented MMA event pitting fighters from two of combat sports\u2019 greatest fighting legacies will be headlined by a featherweight (145 pounds) face-off between Ireland\u2019s Patrick \u201cThe Leech\u201d Lehane<\/strong> (5-2) and Mexico\u2019s Roberto \u201cEl Charro Negro\u201d Romero<\/strong> (7-2-1).<\/p>\n

\u201cCOMBATE GLOBAL better get ready because Forged Irish Stout is bringing a group of our country\u2019s toughest and best new fighters to Miami to take on the best Mexico has to offer!,\u201d said McGregor.<\/p>\n

\u201cForged Irish Stout is the perfect partner for this one-of-a-kind event between these two countries that have each produced some of the most memorable combat sports fighters of all time,\u201d said COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren.<\/p>\n

As part of the partnership, the Forged Irish Stout logo will be placed on the canvas of COMBATE GLOBAL\u2019s La Jaula. The beverage brand will also conduct product sampling to fans at the show, and will receive mentions on the air during the COMBATE GLOBAL stream and broadcast.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old Lehane, who hails from the city of Cork, burst onto the professional MMA scene on August 1, 2021, winning the first-ever COMBATE GLOBAL one-night European tournament by defeating two far more experienced opponents \u2013 Sebastian Santana Guedes of Spain and Maxime Giacalone of France \u2013 in one night, in what was Lehane\u2019s professional debut.<\/p>\n

Lehane, a member of the famed Team SBG, will enter La Jaula for the first time in 2023 after nursing an injury he sustained last year.<\/p>\n

Romero is a 23-year-old native of Chihuahua, Chih. and a heavy-handed striker who has gone unbeaten in his last seven starts.After earning COMBATE GLOBAL \u201cFight of the Year\u201d honors for his epic, three-round, see-saw battle with Zed Montanez, a fight that was declared a draw on October 22, 2021, Romero delivered a similar performance in his next fight in which he prevailed over Ivan Tena by split decision on August 19, 2022.<\/p>\n
