{"id":29546,"date":"2023-03-12T18:22:45","date_gmt":"2023-03-13T01:22:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.combateglobal.com\/?p=29546"},"modified":"2023-03-12T18:38:07","modified_gmt":"2023-03-13T01:38:07","slug":"justin-vazquez-wins-in-spectacular-fashion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/justin-vazquez-wins-in-spectacular-fashion","title":{"rendered":"Justin Vazquez wins in spectacular fashion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Miami, FL<\/strong>&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/fighters\/justin-slick-j-vasquez\">Justin \u201cSlick J\u201d Vazquez<\/a> (10-2) got the world\u2019s attention after connecting a devastating knee in the first round at 3:24 to defeat Mexico\u2019s Alejandro Gavidia (4-3).<\/p>\n<p>Vazquez increased his winning streak to five after defeating his opponent in incredible fashion on Saturday\u2019s CG 2023 March 11: Vazquez vs Gavidia main event.<\/p>\n<p>Right from the start, Gavidia, a multiple jiu jitsu champion in Mexico, searched for ways to bring down Vasquez which he had some success.<\/p>\n<p>Midway through the first round, the referee stood both fighters after not seeing much action. Vazquez didn\u2019t waste anytime and timely ran to connect with a double switch knee knocking out Gaividia instantly.<\/p>\n<p>Vazquez is now undefeated inside la jaula most recently defeating Jair Perez in August.<\/p>\n<p>After that spectacular display of athleticism, the world is talking about Vazquez and will catapult him in the rankings for a potential shot at gold.<\/p>\n<p>In the co-main event, France\u2019s Jade Jorand (2-2) kept her crown defeating Spain\u2019s Irene Cabello (9-7).<\/p>\n<p>Jorand controlled nearly the entire fight and unlike other competitions, she did well on the ground landing hammer fists and transitioned when she feared a submission was near.<\/p>\n<p>At times, Jorand would go into a fury of punches that Cabello just couldn\u2019t find a way out of.<\/p>\n<p>With family in attendance, Jorand hoisted her flag proudly defeating Cabello by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p>Also, <a href=\"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/fighters\/ismael-zamora\">Ismael \u201cKraken\u201d Zamora<\/a> defeated Ramon \u201cWild Boy\u201d Vizcarra by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p>Zamora was coming off a defeat back in October, but he earned a victory alter fixing some of his fight game having success in the ground game.<\/p>\n<p>Vizcarra, known for his jiu jitsu game, just couldn\u2019t find the right opportunity to land a submission.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, at one point, Zamora had a chance to hold on to a rear naked choke, but the Kraken took the win by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>CG 2023 March 11: Vazquez vs Gavidia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Alex Gonzalez defeated Mauricio Cubillo by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Gaston Manzur defeated Chris Ocon by way of split decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Jade Jorand defeated Irene Cabello by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Justin Vazquez defeated Alejandro Gavidia by way of knockout at 3:24 in the first round.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ismael \u201cKraken\u201d Zamora defeated Ramon Vizcarra by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miami, FL&#8211;Justin \u201cSlick J\u201d Vazquez (10-2) got the world\u2019s attention after connecting a devastating knee in the first round at 3:24 to defeat Mexico\u2019s Alejandro Gavidia (4-3).
