Miami, FL- Roberto Romero<\/a> (6-2-1) remains undefeated inside la jaula, his latest victim: Daniel Ayala (3-3).<\/p>\n

In the main event for CG 2022 September 30: Romero vs Ayala, Romero defeated Ayala by way of technical knockout (TKO) at 4:28 in the first round.<\/p>\n

Romero\u2019s strategically striking was too much for the debuting Ayala. At times, Ayala would trade with Romero\u2019s boxing, but last year\u2019s \u201cFight of the Year\u201d winner read his opponent like a book.<\/p>\n

Although he is just in his early 20\u2019s, Romero displayed maturity as a fighter not rushing to get the victory. He connected with everything form kicks, fists and knees.<\/p>\n

Later, the fight went to the ground where Romero pinned Ayala prohibiting him from any offense. That\u2019s when Romero landed an elbow that opened a large cut on the Ayala\u2019s head. After countless of hammerfists, punches and forearm shots from Romero, the referee stepped in to stop the fight.<\/p>\n

The number seven-ranked Romero should climb up the ranks especially after defeating the former number four ranked Ivan Tena back in August.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event, Mexico\u2019s Luis Gallegos (7-6) tested Chile\u2019s Arturo Vergara (3-1). Vergara came out on top by way of split decision.<\/p>\n

Vergara attempted to finish the fight quickly counting on flying knees, but the Mexican, although, he had some difficulty in the opening round picked up the pace and was able to stand toe-to-toe with Vergara.<\/p>\n

It was Vergara\u2019s takedowns that made the difference especially in the last round that swayed the judges to award him the victory.<\/p>\n

Also, in women\u2019s fight between the number ranked straw weight Caroline Gallardo<\/a> (8-5) and Danielle Taylor (11-8), both women fought a close fight.<\/p>\n

In the end, Gallardo won a razor thin fight and was challenged by the veteran.<\/p>\n

CG 2022 September 30: Romero vs Ayala<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roberto Romero defeated Daniel Ayala at 4:28 in the first round by way of TKO (punches).<\/p>\n

Arturo Vergara defeated Luis Gallegos by split decision.<\/p>\n

Caroline Gallardo defeated Danielle Taylor by split decision.<\/p>\n

Thad Jean defeated Georgie Medina by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

Carlos Calderon defeated Carlos Cordoba by guillotine choke submission at 25 seconds in the first round.<\/p>\n
