NEW YORK <\/strong>\u2013 August 2, 2022 <\/strong>\u2013 Combate Global today announced a five-bout Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) lineup for Friday, Aug. 5, streaming live on Paramount+ from Miami, Fla.<\/p>\n

Paramount+ coverage will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 10:30 p.m. ET\/9:30 p.m. CT, and will continue with the fight action, beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET\/10:00 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n

In the lightweight (155 pounds) main event and a classic Mexico versus USA showdown, Cristian \u201cPuas\u201d Perez<\/strong><\/a> (9-1) will square off with Samuel \u201cThe Alley Cat\u201d Alvarez<\/strong><\/a> (7-5).<\/p>\n

At 22 years of age, Perez of Ensenada, B.C., Mexico is the number two-ranked Combate Global lightweight in the world, and the 2021 \u201cFighter of the Year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perez reeled off five straight wins last year \u2013 four by way of (T)KO or submission \u2013 and kicked off 2022 with a unanimous decision win over Spain\u2019s Sebastian Santana Guedes on April 22.<\/p>\n

Alvarez is a 29-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and a self-proclaimed black belt with \u201cthese hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alvarez holds an overall record of 4-1 in La Jaula, the Combate Global competition cage, and is coming off an entertaining, split decision victory over Mexico\u2019s Jordan Beltran on May 13.<\/p>\n

In a featured women\u2019s strawweight (115 pounds) contest, Muay Thai champion Claudia Diaz<\/strong> (18-11-1) of Barcelona, Spain via Miami will take on Andrea Amaro<\/strong> (2-2-2) of El Paso, Texas.<\/p>\n

A featured matchup will pit Ivan \u201cChoko\u201d Castillo<\/strong> (22-15) of Ensenada against Vernon Ramos <\/strong>(7-1) of Panama City, Panama at a catchweight of 175 pounds.<\/p>\n

The preliminary bout card will be highlighted by a 150-pound catchweight contest between Axel Diaz<\/strong> (4-2) of Mexico City, Mexico via Stockton, CA and Chris Boasso<\/strong> (3-3) of Miami.<\/p>\n

In a second women\u2019s strawweight bout, Alison Beth Milliron<\/strong> (2-1) of Petoskey, MI will face Tanya Nijjar<\/strong> (0-0) of Kelowna, B.C., Canada.<\/p>\n
