Miami, FL<\/strong>–Enrique \u201cBaby Bull\u201d Gonzalez<\/a> (13-4) proved why he is at the top of the lightweight rankings by knocking out the former undefeated number five ranked Angel Alvarez<\/a> (5-1).<\/p>\n

In the opening round of the main event for CG2022 July 8: Gonzalez vs Alvarez, Gonzalez seemed to be losing the edge. Alvarez was successful in closing the range and prohibiting Gonzalez from connecting.<\/p>\n

In the second round, the Valle Flow Striking fighter kept calm, using his footwork to find an opening where to strike. However, Gonzalez was deducted a point after the second eye poke warning from referee Josh Rutgers.<\/p>\n

Gonzalez kept pushing the pace and at the right moment, he landed a right hand that brought Alvarez right to the canvas.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event, Shannon Goughary (6-7) defeated Alitzel Mariscal (2-3) by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

After coming off an injury, Mariscal just couldn\u2019t find a rhythm to strike. Goughary kept moving forward, landing combinations and kicks from different angles leaving Mariscal puzzled.<\/p>\n

In the first fight of the main card, from Italy, but representing Spain, Simone Serra (4-2) defeated Alfrego Ruelas (3-3) by way of unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Carlos Puente Jr. obtained his first victory inside la jaula by submitting Spain\u2019s Roger Blanque by an arm naked choke in the second round at :59.<\/p>\n

Both men exchanged right from the start and midway in the first round Puente ventured on the ground game, however, Blanque searched for a triangle or arm bar submission.<\/p>\n

But Puente remained composed and escaped to make it to the second chapter of the fight.<\/p>\n

In the second round, Puente exchanged but found an opportunity to change levels where he took the fight to the gourn. That’s where explored for a submission and was successful submitting his foe by way of arm triangle choke submission.<\/p>\n

Carlos Puente Jr. defeated Roger Blanque by way of arm triangle choke submission in the second round at\u00a0 :59.<\/p>\n

Katherine Perez defeated Chrisoula Koukouvetakis\u00a0by triangle submission at 4:46 in the first round.<\/p>\n

Ricardo Ramirez defeated Jose Mercado by way of knockout (up kick) at in the first round at 3:08.<\/p>\n

Simone Serra defeated Alfrego “Tarzan” Ruelas by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n
