IVAN CASTILLO (MEXICO) VS. CLAUDIO QUINTANA (CHILE)<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW YORK <\/strong>\u2013 April 26, 2022 <\/strong>\u2013 Combate Global today announced a five-bout Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card headlined by a lightweight (155 pounds) main event matchup between battle-tested Mexican standout Ivan \u201cChoko\u201d Castillo<\/strong> <\/a>(22-13) and Chilean submission expert Claudio \u201cThe Spider\u201d Quintana<\/strong> (8-4) on Friday, April 29, live on Univision (12 a.m. ET\/PT) and TUDN USA (12 a.m. ET\/9 p.m. PT) in the U.S. from Miami, Fla.<\/p>\n

Castillo went unbeaten in Combate Global action in 2021, defeating three straight opponents over the course of the year.<\/p>\n

Like Castillo, the 30-year-old Quintana, who hails from Temuco, Chile and fights out of the Chicago, Ill.-based Valle Flow Striking camp, has won his last five straight fights, with four of the victories coming by way of (T)KO or submission.<\/p>\n

Castillo\u2019s resume includes a unanimous decision victory over two-time world champion and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Luis \u201cBaboon\u201d Palomino on May 4, 2019.<\/p>\n

Combate Global\u2019s main card on April 29 will feature another lightweight contest between Hugo \u201cThe Hooligan\u201d Flores <\/strong>(9-4) of Chicago, Ill. via Guadalajara, J.L., Mexico and Richie Palomino<\/strong> (5-2) of Santa Ana, Calif.<\/p>\n

In featured women\u2019s flyweight (125 pounds) action, Mariel Celimen<\/strong> (1-1) of Miami will take on Tyler Schaefer<\/strong> (0-1) of San Diego, Calif.<\/p>\n

The preliminary bout card will be highlighted by the return of 2021 \u201cCOPA COMBATE\u201d tournament competitor and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt Cristian \u201cScorpio\u201d Barraza<\/strong> (8-4) of Santiago, Chile. Barraza will face off with Trevor Wells<\/strong> (5-3) of Murrieta, Calif. in a 130-pound catchweight affair.<\/p>\n

In a women\u2019s bantamweight (135 pounds) battle, Gillian Noll<\/strong> (1-1) of Spokane, Wash. will meet Kristina Pettigrew<\/strong> (1-2) of San Diego.<\/p>\n
