{"id":14711,"date":"2021-11-05T20:27:49","date_gmt":"2021-11-06T03:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.combateglobal.com\/?p=14711"},"modified":"2021-11-05T20:27:49","modified_gmt":"2021-11-06T03:27:49","slug":"chris-renteria-doesnt-play-games-inside-la-jaula-its-all-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/chris-renteria-doesnt-play-games-inside-la-jaula-its-all-business","title":{"rendered":"Chris Renteria doesn\u2019t play games inside la jaula; it\u2019s all business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miami, FL- It might have been his only second professional mixed marital arts fight, but <a href=\"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en\/fighters\/chris-renteria\">Chris Renteria<\/a> (2-0) seemed like a seasoned fighter as he earned a victory inside la jaula defeating Alexander Sanchez by way of rear naked choke in the first round at 1:02.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Renteria is poised to have a bright future, the majority of his amateur fights were finishes and so far in his professional fights, both of his bouts have lasted less than two minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similar to Fedor Emelianenko or Mirko Cro Cop, he didn\u2019t show much emotion and focused on his foe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFor some of the opponents, it might have an effect on them but for some it may not,\u201d he said. \u201cFor all my fights, I tend to be very focused and serious even when the opponent tries to trash talk or act cocky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although he has not experienced going the distance, he said he is prepared if needed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe game plan was to take him down and not let him up at any moment. My training program is geared to go all out for five minutes and five rounds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cross-country runner has made an impact in his career so far who wasn\u2019t bothered with the lack of fans inside the studio where the bouts were filmed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt felt like any other fight because I block everything out, so it\u2019s just me inside the ring,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For celebration, he spent time with his fianc\u00e9 and a couple of friends who flew to Miami.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fans from the United States and Mexico tuned in to his competition, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for his next fight, he said he would like to compete again in la jaula if the opportunity is his.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miami, FL- It might have been his only second professional mixed marital arts fight, but Chris Renteria (2-0) seemed like a seasoned fighter as he earned a victory inside la jaula defeating Alexander Sanchez by way of rear naked choke in the first round at 1:02.
