MICHAEL \u201cTHE ANIMAL\u201d GARCIA<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>NEW YORK <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>October 11, 2021 <\/strong>\u2013 Combate Global today announced a complete, six-bout Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card, live on Univision (12 a.m. ET\/PT) and TUDN USA (12 a.m. ET\/9 p.m. PT) in the U.S. and on TUDN MX (11 p.m. local time) in Mexico from Miami, Fla. on Friday, Oct. 15.<\/p>\n<p>In the featherweight (145 pounds) main event, battle-tested Colombian warrior <strong>Dumar \u201cCorazon de Leon\u201d Roa<\/strong> (16-10) will square off with undefeated American <a href=\"https:\/\/combateglobal.com\/en?s=ward&amp;lang=en\"><strong>Landry \u201cThe Lone Star Kid\u201d Ward<\/strong><\/a> (4-0).<\/p>\n<p>Roa, who will turn 31 years old on the date of the fight, is a native of Guateque, Colombia, looking to return to the win column after two consecutive losses this year in La Jaula, the Combate Global competition cage.<\/p>\n<p>A former high school football star in his native Fort Worth, Texas, the 24-year-old Ward, who re-located to Miami for MMA training, will look to extend his perfect record, following a split decision victory over Mexico\u2019s Alfrego Ruelas, after the two engaged in an all-out war for three rounds in Combate Global action on July 16.<\/p>\n<p>In a featured lightweight (155 pounds) contest, 26-year-old Cuban native and Judo black belt <strong>Luis \u201cEl Tigre\u201d Gomez<\/strong> (8-5), fighting out of Miami, will battle 27-year-old, former Boise State University All-American wrestler <strong>Michael \u201cThe Animal\u201d Garcia<\/strong> of Nampa, Idaho.<\/p>\n<p>A featured women\u2019s atomweight (105 pounds) affair will see unbeaten <strong>Diana Mendoza<\/strong> (1-0) of Dana Point, Calif. return to La Jaula following her split decision win over Mexico\u2019s Sara Cova at Combate Global on June 25, take on <strong>Stephanie Irurzo<\/strong> (0-2-1) of San Luis Potosi, SLP, Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Topping the preliminary fight bill will be a flyweight (125 pounds) matchup between <strong>Adrian Garcia<\/strong> (5-1) of <strong>Miami and Luis \u201cPinga\u201d Bojorquez<\/strong> (3-3) of Ensenada, B.C., Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cergio Chavez<\/strong> (0-0) of Spokane, Wash. will make his professional debut opposite <strong>Chris Mecate<\/strong> (1-1) of Norfolk, Va. in a featherweight scrap.<\/p>\n<p>Also making his professional debut, <strong>Antonio Noda<\/strong> (0-0) of Miami will face off with <strong>Luis \u201cConde\u201d Navarro<\/strong> (1-1) of Las Vegas, Nev. at welterweight (170 pounds).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FEATHERWEIGHT MAIN EVENT: DUMAR \u201cCORAZON DE LEON\u201d ROA VS.
