NEW YORK <\/strong>\u2013 September 28, 2021 <\/strong>\u2013 Combate Global today announced a complete, six-bout Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card, live on Paramount+ on Friday, Oct. 1 from Miami, Fla.<\/p>\n

Paramount+ live coverage will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 10:30 p.m. ET\/9:30 p.m. CT, and will continue with the live fight action, beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET\/10:00 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n

In the bantamweight (135 pounds) main event, Nicaraguan star Leonardo \u201cChimmy\u201d Morales<\/strong><\/a> (10-5) will battle American standout John \u201cHollywood\u201d Sweeney<\/strong> (8-3).<\/p>\n

Hailing from Nicaragua\u2019s capital city of Managua, the 28-year-old Morales was a semifinalist on The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3<\/em> competition reality television series.<\/p>\n

The fight marks Morales\u2019 return to the bantamweight division following a run at featherweight (145 pounds) that culminated with his unanimous decision loss to Jose \u201cFroggy\u201d Estrada in one of the year\u2019s most entertaining Combate Global bouts on July 2.<\/p>\n

The loss to Estrada snapped a three-fight win streak that Morales had put together by defeating all three opponents inside of two rounds.<\/p>\n

Fighting out of Simpsonville, S.C., the 26-year-old Sweeney is a seasoned striker who has notched seven of his eight professional career victories by way of (T)KO or submission.<\/p>\n

Sweeney will make his debut in La Jaula, the Combate Global competition cage, riding a two-fight win streak that he has produced with a pair of TKO victories in 2021.<\/p>\n

In a featured featherweight contest between two unbeaten, 22-year-old new faces in the sport, Ivan \u201cTitan\u201d Tena<\/strong> (2-0) will face off with Timothy Cuamba<\/strong> (3-0) of Las Vegas, Nev.<\/p>\n

Tena of Phoeniz, Ariz. made headlines earlier this year after scoring a stunning, 10-second knockout with a single punch on Ricardo Canales on March 13.<\/p>\n

Cuamba fights out of Big Scary Gym in Las Vegas, and will look for his third consecutive win in 2021.<\/p>\n

Another featured featherweight contest will pit Jair \u201cLupe\u201d Perez<\/strong> (5-2) of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico against Shaheen Santana<\/strong> (6-1) of Miami.<\/p>\n

In bantamweight undercard action, Carlos Brise<\/strong>\u00f1o<\/strong> (11-2) of Mexico City, Mexico will take on Adam \u201cThe American Bully\u201d Martinez<\/strong> (7-3) of Colorado Springs, Colo.<\/p>\n

In a women\u2019s bantamweight scrap, Montserrat \u201cMonster\u201d Rendon<\/strong> (1-0) of Cancun, Q.R., Mexico will square off with fellow unbeaten prospect Micaela \u201cMicky\u201d Rampage<\/strong> (1-0) of Chicago, Ill.<\/p>\n

Undefeated professional boxer Jonathan \u201cBum Bum\u201d Lopez<\/strong> (0-0 MMA, 8-0-1 boxing) of Humacao, Puerto Rico will make his professional MMA debut against German Orpineda Ponce<\/strong> (0-2) of Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico at flyweight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
