NEW YORK <\/strong>\u2013 July 12, 2021 <\/strong>\u2013 Combate Global today announced a complete, six-bout Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight lineup, live on Paramount+ on Friday, July 16.<\/p>\n

Paramount+ live coverage will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 10:30 p.m. ET\/9:30 p.m. CT, and will continue with the live fight action, beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET\/10:00 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n

In addition, this week\u2019s Combate coverage is complemented on CBS Sports Network with three one-hour recap shows on Friday, July 16 (7:00-10:00 p.m. ET) highlighting the first three weeks of action. Following this week, the one-hour recap show will continue airing weekly.<\/p>\n

In a 150-pound catchweight main event, Levy \u201cEl Negro\u201d Marroquin<\/strong> (14-3) will square off with Carlos \u201cEl Changuito\u201d Calvo Calvo<\/strong> (7-1).<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old Marroquin is the first fighter in history to win Combate Global\u2019s annual, year-end \u201cCOPA COMBATE\u201d one-night, eight-man tournament, the most coveted combat sports event for representing one\u2019s country in competition.<\/p>\n

Over the span of his eight-year professional career, the hard-hitting and versatile Marroquin has never been knocked out or submitted.<\/p>\n

Calvo Calvo is a 23-year-old native of Costa Rica and budding new star who was undefeated as an amateur before reeling off seven consecutive victories in his first seven starts as a professional.<\/p>\n

In a featured lightweight (155 pounds) contest, Alfredo Ruelas<\/strong> (2-0) of Mexico City, Mexico and Landry Ward<\/strong> (3-0) of Miami, Fla. will risk their unblemished records against one another.<\/p>\n

A featured women\u2019s atomweight (105 pounds) matchup will pit Daniela \u201cTiny Mexa\u201d Hernandez <\/strong>(1-0) of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico against Eli Avila<\/strong> (0-1) of Mexico City.<\/p>\n

The three-bout undercard will be highlighted by a lightweight matchup between Jair \u201cEl Lupe\u201d Perez<\/strong> (4-2) of Monterrey via San Diego, Calif. and Gabe Barletta<\/strong> (4-2) of Jensen Beach, Fla.<\/p>\n

Carlos \u201cEl Rey\u201d Puente, Jr.<\/strong> (6-5) of Anaheim, Calif. will take on Pierre \u201cThe French Hawaiian\u201d Daguzan<\/strong> (5-5) of Versailles, France by way of Hawaii at bantamweight (135 pounds).<\/p>\n

Making their respective professional debuts against each other in a flyweight (125 pounds) bout will be Ricardo Ramirez<\/strong> (0-0) of Ciudad Juarez, Chih., Mexico and Oscar Herrera <\/strong>(0-0) of Denver, Colo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
